Pallets

All painters have some form of a painter's pallet. How it is used and what form that pallet takes is as unique as each artist themselves. I have always used recycled polystyrene meat trays that our grocery meat purchases come in as my painting pallets. These pallets come from a place of scarcity and repurpose. Having been raised by parents who survived the Great Depression all to be forced into a better life through immigration as adults, we were taught to consider every scrap of trash as a potential toy, tool or resource with which to build. I think this scarcity mindset had a uniquely wonderful effect on my creative choices and pursuits. I also love the fact that collectors can own a piece of the actual creative process. Each pallet is signed upon completion of each work and is offered for sale.
