Seven Years of the Sky
"The sky has always been a place of refuge for me. The place we are taught as children where God lives. It's the home of a warm sun beaming on my face after a long cold winter. It's where the rains that feed my garden and the light winds that blow the wheat fields of my youth derive. Yet I often ponder how the very heavens above that provide me with such joy and comfort also produce the horrors that many others fight to escape and survive. This is one of innumerable contradictions of life and nature. Divinely intended? We will never know. Yet, always worth pondering." - NichoL
Below is a small compilation of the nearly 400 paintings that NichoL produced over a seven year period. These paintings were a continuation of her departure from her "colorbook" style.
